Where it comes from
World Plumbing Day was created by the World Plumbing Council at its annual meeting in Centurion, South Africa, in October 2009, and was first held on 11 March 2010. The Council, formally set up at a London conference in 1990, brings together plumbing bodies from around the world.
How it's celebrated
Plumbing associations, training colleges and water authorities hold seminars, competitions, open days and poster contests, and remind people to save water and fix leaks.
Did you know
The first World Plumbing Day was launched at a press conference in Beijing, at the ISH China trade fair.
