The UN General Assembly proclaimed World Food Safety Day on 20 December 2018, in resolution 73/250, and it was first celebrated on 7 June 2019 under the slogan 'Food safety, everyone's business'.

WHO and FAO invite everyone along the food chain to take part, whether they grow, process, transport, sell, cook or simply eat food.
